"Suunen Atsuwe is a Youth Fellow of the Innocent Chukwuma Social Impact Fellowship at Lagos Business School (LBS), a Fellow of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Nigeria - “Open Minds, Young Voices (OMYV), and a ChangeMaker Alumna of the African Leadership Institute (AFLI). Suunen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, now Joseph Sarwuan Tarkaa University (JOSTUM), Benue State. Suunen under the Opportunities Hub (OHUB) Youth Award was named the Most Influential Young Person for the year 2021 for his achievements in environmental sustainability and he made it to the finalist on the 2022 JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Nigeria under the Moral and Environmental category. Suunen is the Co-Founder/Executive Director at DevTrain Community and Entrepreneurship Development Initiative a leading youth-led not-for-profit organization in Benue State, Nigeria that implements community-based development through identifying and meeting the needs of community members in Environmental sustainability, youth capacity development programmes, accountability and transparency in Governance across an urban, small town and rural communities. Through his leadership at DevTrain, they have won grants and the 2021 JCI FUAM Certificate of Appreciation for valuable contribution and support for young people to grow and improve their lives positively as well as the 2019 Innovation Award of the Africa Minister’s Council on Water (AMCOW) – AfricaSan5 for the construction of the girl-centred Eco-Toilet in Achusa community in Makurdi, Benue State using plastic bottles as a measure aimed at beating plastic pollution through upcycling an initiative he birthed. Suunen is also a consultant on nonprofit management and strategy. A Project Management and Sustainability Expert who strongly advocates for Equity, Inclusion, and Participation of young people in the development, private and public sectors. Suunen is the initiator of the DevTrain Volunteer Academy (DVA) Fellowship Programme and LOBITracka Project, a transparency and accountability project tracking the campaign promises of Benue State Governor, to mention a few."
