
Dorcas Anaja

Dorcas Anaja is a legal and development practitioner passionate about reforms in the justice system. She currently serves as Programs Officer, Access to Justice, at Hope Behind Bars Africa, where she leverages her legal expertise, advocacy, and communication skills to promote a fairer, more reformative system for incarcerated and justice-impacted individuals.
At her core, Dorcas is committed to building a justice system rooted in accountability and equity. Her work champions the dignity of incarcerated persons, the decriminalisation of poverty, and the protection of journalists' and citizens' rights to freedom of assembly and expression. She also provides legal and reformatory support for indigent individuals behind bars, including detained protesters, ensuring their rights are upheld and their voices heard.
Beyond her work in criminal justice reform, Dorcas is deeply committed to advancing women's rights and advocating for other marginalised groups, including persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the youth.

Mercy Ajeh
Mercy Ajeh is a Mental Health Advocate and Social Impact Innovator with over four years of experience managing diverse projects impacting over 3,000 people.
She serves as the Executive Director of Esteem Empowerment Network, a leadership and empowerment hub creating a safe and inclusive environment for women and girls struggling with an inferiority complex and learning disabilities.
She is committed to creating impact and guided by the mantra, 'in the end we are all just walking each other home.

Rachael Okoronkwo
Rachael Okoronkwo is a PMD-Pro certified development practitioner with five years of experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) for government and non-governmental organizations. Her interests span gender, education, public health, public policy advocacy, and youth leadership. She is proficient in designing robust M&E frameworks, conducting data collection, analysis, management and protection, and delivering actionable insights to optimize program outcomes. She is also an active member of the EvalYouth Global Network, where she contributes to advancing youth involvement in evaluation practices, particularly within the private sector.
Rachael is deeply committed to volunteerism, supporting initiatives that empower underserved communities, promote gender equity, and advance sustainable development. She has provided menstrual health education to over 100 girls in Abuja, Nigeria, and co-facilitated a continental dialogue on Business Leadership and Management at the 2023 Amazon Leadership Initiative forum, focusing on mentorship for aspiring female leaders.
A 2023 Fellow of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Nigeria and member of the YALI Network Abuja, Rachael is guided by the mantra, “Positive change begins with me,†and remains dedicated to mentoring and empowering the next generation of female leaders.

Merit Chiamaka Kenneth-Kamah

Merit Chiamaka Olumba is a Nigerian social impact strategist, impact filmmaker, and community development advocate with over five years of experience in youth development, project management, and storytelling for change. She is the co-founder of Teens Connect Africa, an initiative that has empowered over 3,500 teenagers through mentorship, capacity-building, and leadership programs.
Through her films—including Lilies and Thistles and ITOHAN: The Travail—she sheds light on critical issues such as child abuse, rape, and human trafficking, using storytelling as a tool for awareness and advocacy. Her community-led campaigns have reached thousands across underserved communities in Nigeria.
Merit is a trained fact-checker and digital literacy educator, having educated over 500 students on combating misinformation. She is passionate about equipping the next generation to be bold, ethical leaders and believes in the transformative power of faith, storytelling, and strategic action.

Danbauchi Shalom Solomon
Danbauchi Shalom Solomon is a dedicated public servant, data analyst, and creative designer with a dynamic portfolio that bridges governance, technology, and visual communication. With a strong foundation in data-driven decision-making and policy support, he combines analytical precision with creative vision to drive innovation across public and private sectors. As a member of the Peace Institute (mpi) and an alumnus of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Shalom brings a nuanced understanding of peacebuilding, institutional development, and strategic communication into his professional practice.
Over the years, he has contributed to a wide range of impactful publications spanning government agencies, NGOs, and private enterprises—translating complex information into compelling visual formats that support engagement and decision-making. His unique blend of public service experience and creative design has positioned him as a versatile contributor to projects at the intersection of governance, technology, and social impact.
Currently, Shalom is focused on the integration of AI and emerging technologies into public sector reform and governance innovation. His work explores how data systems and digital tools can enhance transparency, policy efficiency, and citizen engagement in Nigeria and across Africa. He remains committed to leveraging his multidisciplinary skill set to shape a more accountable and technologically inclusive public sector.

Juliana Kemi Okegbile
Juliana Okegbile is a qualified legal practitioner with over five years of professional experience, specialising in intellectual property, data privacy, and energy transition law. She began her career as an Intellectual Property Associate at SPA Ajibade & Co., and later served as in-house counsel at Netzence Sustainability Limited. Juliana holds an LLB from the University of Ibadan, where she served as President of the Students’ Council on Legal Aid (SCOLA UI) and Public Relations Officer in prior years. She is an academic researcher currently pursuing an LLM in Technology Law with research interests in law, innovation, and human rights. She has published legal insights on platforms such as Mondaq, earning the 2024 Autumn Thought Leadership Award in Data Protection and Compliance.
Beyond her legal work, Juliana is a voice actor, writer, and committed volunteer. As a Fellow of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Open Minds Young Voices Cohort 6, she is passionate about policy advocacy, healthcare, and using law as a tool for social transformation across Africa and beyond.

Vanessa Iveren Akpelan

Vanessa Iveren Akpelan is a passionate development practitioner and Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) professional with a strong track record of designing, implementing, and assessing impactful development programs across Nigeria. With a keen focus on evidence-based decision-making, she has contributed significantly to initiatives that promote accountability, learning, and sustainable outcomes within the development sector.
Vanessa is a dedicated advocate for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 4—Good Health and Well-being, and Quality Education. She channels her expertise into advancing access to equitable healthcare and inclusive, lifelong learning opportunities, especially for underserved communities. Her commitment to these goals is reflected in her collaborative work with stakeholders across government, civil society, and donor organizations to strengthen systems and amplify community voices.
Whether facilitating learning events, conducting rigorous program evaluations, or contributing to strategic planning, Vanessa brings a thoughtful, people-centered approach rooted in empathy and data. Beyond her technical work, she also supports youth-focused initiatives and social impact campaigns that inspire collective action for a healthier, better-educated future.
